Leaving a Legacy

Taking back the soul of Exmouth for Christ

Last Sunday, I saw a great team working together to gather God's people to sing, pray and learn more about the Lord. The Lord has raised an excellent team to work with our youth and bring other youth to be part of our family. We prayed for the Youth and the Youth Team on Sunday and I would encourage you to keep them in your prayers this week. I also want to thank these amazing people for the All Age Worship Service they organised for the church family. You have done a great service to the Lord and to Christ Church.

Following the service, it was lovely to see over thirty of our church enjoying a picnic at the Maer continuing our Pentecost Sunday celebrations. Thank you so much for making last Sunday, even more special. Sun, or rain, you are an inspiration.

As we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, we were encouraged to be bold in our faith. Boldness is necessary to live and share the amazing love of God. Exmouth needs to hear the good news and see again the power of the Holy Spirit. We are truly all involved in a battle for the soul of Exmouth and its future; even if you didn't know it yet! We must be prepared to accept that life may get harder during this battle even though we would like to think that it might get easier!

Pentecost is about God's empowerment through the Holy Spirit. The Lord also called His church to make disciples and teach them to obey all that He said (Mt 28:19-20). This is what I intend to do over the coming months. During the church interview last year I was asked if I would teach about various subjects, I said, "I will teach the whole Bible and all the decrees of God". In doing so, it is my goal to equip and release you, the men and women of Christ Church, to fulfil the high calling: to be a disciple of Christ.

Next Sunday, we will continue to explore the book of Joshua. After Israel crossed the Jordan, they began taking the Promised Land. It is time for God's people to get ready to take back Exmouth for Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit and for the glory of God. This is our legacy.

May the Lord empower Christ Church to be part of God's people for such a time as this.

Bishop Josep Rosselló
