How To Change the World in Five Steps!

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8a).

If there is something that has inspired me all these years, it is a strong sense that I can help to change the world. There is such a burning inside me that calls me to do this, even when it seems an impossible task. I may not change anything, but I must try or die trying.

Most people’s answer to such a calling would be to ask, “where do we start? What's the first step? What's the plan? Do we have a strategy in place?”. Such questions are important. We must know where we are going; sadly many people don't go anywhere because they want to have all the answers before they start the journey. I am the opposite of this….. when God ignites something in my heart and things are burning inside of me, I can't keep still!

Today I have five simple steps that will help you to utterly change the world and reach countless people with the gospel of the Kingdom.

So here goes:

Step one - Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Step two - Love your neighbour as yourself.
Step three - Love your spouse totally and fully (if applicable)
Step four - Love your children (if applicable)
Step five - Treat others as you want to be treated

Re-read these five steps again! I know, you were expecting some secrets to an easy solution, but these five steps are amazing, they have changed history, and they can change the world. These steps are not my own ideas they are the steps of Jesus. It is Jesus' way to change the world through the Good News. We are called to reach out; be light and salt in our lifestyle and consider carefully what we do with our lives. We must believe and follow such belief with practical steps.

Changing the world is not likely to happen in a day, or even a week or months - it can take years. There is time, eternity is our calling. This is the time to live as Jesus has called us to live. Love is more radical than the cheap and pop love presented by TV or the world; love is a self-giving of ourselves for the sake of others without expecting anything in return. This is the love we are called to live. It is a love that does not hide the truth, it links truth with love.

Do you want to change the world? Then love as Jesus loved, not as the world loves. Tear down walls. Unite, don't divide. Invest in sharing the gospel with people with your whole heart. Love and don't expect to be loved back, because we are already being loved by the Father.

That's how you and I will change the world. It's that simple. It's that difficult. It's that powerful.
