Stand for Battle

We are in a spiritual war; we can’t be neutral in this fight. God, the militant church, the devil, demon armies, angelic hosts of enormous power, and you are among the fighters. The weapons are prayer, fasting, preaching the gospel, Sunday Service, and fearless faith.

"For we are not contesting flesh and blood," says the apostle Paul, "but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Your everlasting soul—that which is either eternal life or eternal death—is in this fight. No prisoners are being taken. You already are dead if you are not in this fight.

We should not be worried. On your side are the strong archangels, the most famous is Michael. They are the mighty warriors of God. These strong angels fight Satan and his demonic army.

"Who is like unto God” was his battle cry, when Lucifer first disobeyed God. Driving the rebels from heaven, Michael defended the honour of God and rallied the troops of heaven against the disobedient angels. And their ancient warfare carries on now.

The battle is against spiritual forces. Spiritual warfare is woven right into Christianity. We have to fight as our enemy rests neither day nor night and "prows around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Passivity is never a choice in front of a determinate enemy. The apostle Peter orders us specifically to, "resist him, firm in your faith." We have to fight the battle against the world, the flesh, and the devil; else, we shall be destroyed by them.

The war is real and intense; the Church of Jesus is under attack from the inside as well as from the outside. In a day when many want to dethrone God or declare him dead, we must rise up like the archangel Michael to defend His name and glory, declaring, "Who is like unto God?"

Stand for battle. And Michael defends us in battle as you did with Daniel.
